Veterinarian

Dr. Steve was born and raised in Chicago, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Ecology from Loyola University. During his veterinary training at the University of Illinois, he embraced a wide range of hands-on learning opportunities, including studying ecology in Costa Rica, environmental science in Australia, wildlife medicine in Zimbabwe, and volunteering at an animal shelter in Greece.

After graduating, Dr. Steve spent two years working at a busy walk-in and emergency small animal clinic in a Chicago suburb, gaining valuable experience in fast-paced, high-quality care. He then relocated to Colorado to enjoy its serene natural beauty and year-round outdoor activities. For the next several years, he worked relief shifts at various Denver-area clinics and full time with Caring Pathways, providing compassionate in-home palliative and end-of-life veterinary care.

Dr. Steve remains actively involved in his community, fostering animals from local shelters and advocating for animal welfare. His professional interests include preventative medicine, pain management, and palliative and comfort care.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Steve enjoys playing and watching ice hockey, attending live music events, snowboarding, hiking, and spending time with his three rescue cats and revolving door of foster dogs
